My name is Matia Mathes and I am a first year Communication Studies major at the California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. My hometown is Los Angeles and I hope to one day settle in New York City. There is not shortage of creative energy in LA, but I would love to experience a different big city lifestyle. I aspire to use my Communications degree in a creative field, with hopes of working in the fashion or entertainment industry. In addition to being a full time student, I am also an artist. My background is in studio art, with focuses on painting and drawing.
Through this blog, I am hoping to capture my time in college and start conversations about issues I am passion about. As a college student, I am always exploring possible career pathways. In this blog, I will discuss topics relating to my Communication Studies as I continue my degree. I hope to find the perfect fit for me: a job in a creative tech company that allows me to work closely with other. I am so excited to share my words, art, and future with you!
